Google has unveiled a fresh YouTube series titled “SEO Simplified.” Its inaugural episode focuses on harnessing structured data to personalize website names within Google’s search results. This series caters to a wide audience, including novices and seasoned website proprietors.

Google has just launched the debut episode of its latest YouTube series, “Simplified SEO,” to educate individuals on enhancing their website’s visibility in search results.

In this first installment, Martin Splitt from Google’s Search Relations team delves into tailoring the appearance of a brand name within Google’s search engine results pages (SERPs).

In an earlier introduction, Splitt provides an overview of the series’ content, emphasizing its accessibility to newcomers and seasoned website operators.

Splitt explains:

“Our guidance is tailored for individuals at all levels, whether you’re just starting or have extensive experience managing websites. We’ll share insights like leveraging Google Search Console for quick wins and implementing lazy loading for improved page performance.”

In a dynamic SEO landscape, our series is dedicated to delivering straightforward, practical video lessons to empower websites to excel on Google.

The inaugural episode of “SEO Made Easy” delves deeply into the significance of structured data in optimizing websites.

Episode One: Tailoring Website Titles

Splitt starts the series by delving into a foundational SEO concept: using structured data for personalized website titles.

When Google Search encounters difficulty automatically discerning your website’s preferred name, structured data becomes a valuable tool for shaping its presentation.

Splitt offers practical advice for individuals facing challenges implementing structured data on their websites. Firstly, he recommends ensuring that the site’s name consistently appears in the title of all pages.

He points out that specific content management systems offer the option to set a site-wide name, while others may necessitate manually adding the site’s name to individual page titles. However, he advises that this method is effective for subdomains or top-level domains and not applicable on a per-directory basis.

After implementing these modifications, it’s essential to allow Google sometime to process the updates. To expedite the process, you can utilize Search Console to request a re-indexing of the homepage.
